Message From Our Founder

JoAnne Kemnitz
Founder and President
Mental health touches every family, every community, and every stage of life.
Through my work in the mental health field, I have witnessed both the challenges individuals face and the life-changing impact that compassionate support can provide. I have also seen the growing need for dedicated professionals who are called to serve others through counseling, advocacy, education, and mental health care.
The Compassionate Advocates Scholarship Fund mission is simple yet vital: to empower and support the next generation of mental health advocates and practitioners who demonstrate compassion, academic excellence, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
By helping reduce barriers to higher education, we hope to empower future leaders who will strengthen communities, advance mental health awareness, and expand access to compassionate care for years to come.
Our vision is to support future mental health professionals, promote advocacy and awareness, and create a lasting legacy of compassionate leadership. We believe every community benefits when passionate individuals are equipped to pursue careers dedicated to helping others, and that investing in students today is an investment in healthier communities tomorrow.
